Sifu #mortenibsen talks to Sifu David Peterson about the Paak Sau drill. The Ving Tsun system is well-known for its ingenious training drills, of which there are two or three such exercises which typify how Ving Tsun transforms concepts into reality. One of these training methods is the Paak Sau (or “Slapping Hands”) drill. Produceret af MICHAELSEN.IT

Well said
the best explanation for Bon Sau out of dozens of other teachers.
hello how wing chun wall sandbag can be applied for boxing punces (jab, cross, hook, uppercuts)? thanks
Im watching your Videos from Germany. Very good stuff. Please make more of them. Greetings from Cologne
The greatest explanation of the of how and when to use Bong Sao. waw great videó 👍👌
Sifu Morten , In the biu ji form , what's the use of the turning fist that applies after the grabbing and pulling technique?
ofcourse better not to use gan sau, but sometimes it helps
is emin boztepe any good?
Such detailed, concise explanation!!! Bravo, Sifu David Peterson!
overall decent, but not sure i agree that wu sau is used in lap sau drill. wu sau is in motion, jum sau is out motion. lap sau is lap sau. at the end of lap sau, if bridging on back Hand then you are jum sau.
nice! some biu jee concept near the end, cool!
Congratulations Sifu Morten!! Great video!
Great video reel capturing what was a great weekend all around! Congratulations on your milestone, achievements, and community that your hard work and passion have built with the DVTF, Sifu Morten.
Very informative! Thanks for sharing
Got the book last week a fantastic guide to the world of WSL wing chun.
I learned that biu ji is a way to restore the center line. Nothing more, nothing less.
Keep the videos coming
Well explained nice and simple!!!
That was great excellent!
Love your explanations
I met WSL in 1986 at his school on Nathan in HK. He was gracious and welcoming.
Great!!
excellent demonstration. keep up the great work!
very nice.
good explanation..please make another video explain another move in wingchun
Great video! Keep them coming!
Very good👍🏼
Excellent!! Thank you sifu!
When you collapse ANY technique in wing chun, you are allowing your opponent to overrun yours. I've seen this in many Leung Ting videos where that clown (sorry Sifu) tries to explain it and does it improperly. Same goes for tan sao also.
Right! When your hand is pushed from the center, then you change from a punch to a bong sau to redirect the strike, then from there, you can attack. Or, like you said so well, if your hands are down and you get attacked, bong sau is the quickest way to stop the attack because the elbow is much closer then the hand, and you will be able to stop the attack. If you tried using your hand, by the time you got it up, it would be too late. One point though. If you use a step to the outside of the attacking arm using an angled step, with a body rotation square, you will more than likely avoid the attack. A body rotation moves your body AWAY from the attack and off of his center line, while maintaining yours, and puts you out of reach of his counter(s). Again, that is correct but you still have to use an angled step to the outside and a body rotation, which you did not do here. You are still in danger of his hook that way. The harder he moves, the more he is using his own force against himself. This is why wing chun works so well. By overcommitting his response, he is forcing himself to put all his weight and forward momentum on his front leg. The more force he uses, the easier it is to redirect the force because of his momentum forward. This is the same principles used in tai chi and judo also. This is why you use FORWARD INTENT also. It forces your opponent to totally commit to the strike, otherwise, your forward energy would overrun his and your strike would get through. It also causes him to open an area that was once covered by his hand, which comes over to protect the other side, allowing you to step into the now open area and attack, successfully. Even if he caught the second one, that would cause ANOTHER opening in his defenses that you can step into, which would get through due to an ineffectual counter and muscle fatigue caused by using antagonistic muscles in the arm and shoulder.
nobody out there punch like a wing chun guy...
Thanks for the lesson Sifu Peterson. much appreciated
This really helped me to clarify the intent and purpose of pak sau. Sifu Peterson's understanding of Cantonese also helps solidify the concepts behind each motion.
These are just superb, thanks so much for posting. Would love to see more from Sifu Peterson, his style of teaching is clear and his reasoning impeccable.
Brilliant as ever.
Great video! THanks for sharing :D
Amazing video Sifu! Thanks for the great work.
thanks a lot about sharing us the thoughts of wong sheung leung wingchun concepts. may you would film a wood dummy sets or chi sau application ? i am just a learner . thank you again !
I noticed a the intro to your videos, it says "Wing Tsun" which is the run off branch of true Ving Tsun. Is it a publicity thing for you to say it? Or do you really hold rank in Wing Tsun? I think it's kind of an insult to the best lineage we have, Wong Shun Leungs Ving Tsun saying "Wing Tsun" can be very misleading!
There is no WT spelling in the intro!
The Wing Tsun spelling, regardless if it is present in the video intro or not, only denotes the Leung Ting lineage. Nothing more, nothing less. I really wouldn't consider WT an "insult"; only another interpretation of the concept, just like every other lineage brought forth by students of Yip Man. There is no "true" Ving Tsun/Wing Tsun/Wing Chun... No "best" lineage, only different interpretations that have evolved along the way.
Best explanation ever. Brilliant!
I have already stepped up my Stand up game thanks to you Sifu :) its kinda insane
Simply brilliant!
Nice channel! Thank you for sharing that knowledge.
Sweet... I'm really looking forward to David's new book. It's no doubt going to be a wast collection of information to dive into, to study and assimilate, and to read over and over again... I'm definitely going to order a copy as soon as it's released. :-)
Thanks for posting this info on Lan Sau. Even though I live on the left coast, If I had the resources I rather train with Gary's classmates. I hope to meet Nino, David, or Wan one of these days.
Hej MortenTak for dit svar. Jeg ved det er svaert at svar på hvad man skal og det kommer hel an på trykket... Men tusind tak for din tid.
great video
Excelent!!!...
Hej Morten! Your videos are great! I have been training in Sweden, Lund within Wing Tsun Scandinavia, and recently got to try out Chum Kiu because I enjoy the forms (I have been practicing at home, too!). Chum Kiu is definitely much harder to do than Siu Nim Tao! I wanted to say I really like the explosiveness of your Chum Kiu in the intro! It would be really cool if you made a video showing the form in your own personal style, but I understand if you have other plans. Did you also start in the Scandinavia school? :)
